Converter & Pipe Hanger

Start by lifting the vehicle then securing it properly for disassembly of the converter hanger assembly. The removal process starts with the removal of the Catalytic Converter hanger insulators from the Catalytic Converter. Finally, the Catalytic Converter hanger bolts will be taken out and the Catalytic Converter hanger extracted. Installation starts by fitting the Catalytic Converter hanger followed by proper fastening of the Catalytic Converter hanger bolts which must be tightened to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.) after reading the fastener notice in service precautions. Lift the vehicle and install Catalytic Converter hanger insulators to the converter before completing the procedure.

A mechanic must first lift the vehicle properly before replacing the Exhaust Hanger. Begin by removing the Catalytic Converter hanger insulators from the Catalytic Converter and after that remove both the Catalytic Converter hanger bolts before extracting the hanger itself. Begin the installation process by putting in place the Catalytic Converter hanger but make sure to follow the fastener notice in service precautions. Mount the Catalytic Converter hanger bolts before tightening each one up to 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.). The procedure ends with reinstalling Catalytic Converter hanger insulators onto the converter before the vehicle lowering.

Attach the catalytic converter hanger insulators to the catalytic converter and lower the vehicle.

Install the catalytic converter hanger bolts and tighten them to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

Reinstall the catalytic converter hanger insulator to the catalytic converter and lower the vehicle.

Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

Install the catalytic converter hanger, ensuring to adhere to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
