Before starting the process to install the rear side door hinge you must first remove the door and note the hinge position on the body. The next step requires removing hinge to body fasteners while maintaining securement of the studplate inside the door to avoid any potential dropping. First remove the door trim panel and mark the hinge position on the door before uninstalling the hinge to door fasteners. Installation requires lining up the body side half of the hinge with the marks left on the pillar during disassembly and fastening it to the body structure while referring to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions to secure the hinge to body fasteners at 35 N.m (26 lb ft). Install the fasteners on the door half of the hinge by positioning them at the marks which were applied during disassembly and tighten them to 34 N.m (24 lb ft). Apply body color paint to fix any damaged hinge fasteners before attaching the door while adjusting it properly.

Begin front Door Hinge replacement tasks by opening the door completely then taking off the door trim panel as well as the water deflector. The first step of Door Hinge replacement involves disconnecting the door latch electrical connectors along with the power window motor electrical connector. Next step includes removing door wiring harness retainers while pulling the door wire harness out. Begin by taking out the body fasteners from the door check link and then remove the intermediate hinge fasteners attached to both of the hinges. Helper support becomes vital to lift the door off while marking down both body and Door Hinge positions. Secure the studplate inside the door before removing the hinge fasteners from the pillar which holds the pillar hinge half in place. Turn loose the hinge fasteners on the door before extracting the hinge half from the door. To install the pieces fit the hinge half onto the body before attaching its fasteners and tightening them to 35 n.m torque. Mount the Door Hinge half using the previously marked positions and tighten the fasteners to 34 n.m (24 lb ft). Lower the Door Hinge halves until they connect with each other. Use loctite(R) blue gm p/n 12345382 or canadian p/n 10953489 or their equivalent on the intermediate Door Hinge fasteners then fasten them while tightening to 24 n.m (18 lb. Ft). Put back the door check link then fix any paint damage to fasteners and check the link before placing the door wire harness through the front opening of the door. Fasten the wiring harness retainers into holes before connecting the power window motor electrical connector and the door latch electrical connectors. Finish by reinstalling the water deflector then the door trim panel while maintaining proper alignment between the doors without using the Door Striker for adjustments to protect the door latch and striker.
