    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting the replacement raise and stabilize your vehicle to access the wheels. Thoroughly eliminate all soil and debris from both sides of the brake hose and brake pipe coupling. Via the back up wrench disconnect the brake rod fitting from the hose while sealing its exposed ends with caps to keep fluid inside. Push off the halves of the hose retaining clip from the front brake hose and unscrew the brake caliper bolt. Unfasten the brake hose from the caliper. Get rid of the 2 stuck copper gaskets between the caliper and hose ends then seal both parts with caps to keep brake fluid inside. Before installing the brake hose break loose the protective caps then fit brand new copper brake hose gaskets before replacement. Position the brake hose gaskets and bolt on the hose flat surface before sliding the device through the caliper fixture. Tighten the brake hose-to-caliper bolt to 50 nm (37 lb ft) pressure without twisting the hose during installation. Fit the brake hose to the bracket and fasten it using the hose retaining clip. Connect the brake pipe fitting to the front brake hose using a back up wrench with your effort amounting to 23 nm (17 lb ft). Replace the tire and wheel parts with care by keeping the hose away from suspension components when turning sharply to the right and left; fix the issue and return the hose if necessary. Complete the brake service by pumping and lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
After raising and supporting your vehicle you need to remove the front wheel components before you can replace the front brake hose. Take care to wipe away dirt from brake hoses before putting a rubber stopper over the open end of the brake pipe fitting to stop fluid loss and maintain cleanliness. Take off the brake hose port at the front brake pipe and push a sealing cap over the port end. Pull the groove clamp off to unmount the bracket and remove the brake hose. Break away the front brake hose-to-caliper bolt from the brake caliper and pop off the brake hose from its location. Remove the two copper brake hose gaskets as they may be bonded to caliper or hose termination. New copper brake hose gaskets must be used for installation before connecting them to the brake hose with brake hose bolt. Secure the bolt connecting the front brake hose to the caliper and fasten it to 50 nm torque equivalent to 37 ft. Lbs. Place the brake hose seat in the mounting bracket and put on the retaining clip before positioning the brake hose into this mounting location. Tighten the front brake pipe connection to the front brake hose at 27 nm torque setting. When the vehicle makes sharp turns avoid letting the brake hose touch suspension components. Fix the problem if contact happens. Complete the process by draining the hydraulic brake lines and setting the car down.
