    Q:
How to replace the Power Steering Hose inlet and outlet on a 5.3L engine on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle elevation and support must begin before starting the replacement of power steering gear inlet and outlet hose on 5.3l engines. Before proceeding set a drain pan underneath then unscrew the mounting bolt of the Power Steering Hose assembly from the power steering gear. The Power Steering Hose assembly must be disconnected from the power steering gear before removing the power steering return hose and Power Steering Cooler hose from the Power Steering Cooler. Lower the vehicle when disconnecting the power steering pressure hose and return hose from the Power Steering Pump. After disconnecting the bracket that mounts the pcm, place it to the side. First remove the front bracket mounting bolt of the Power Steering Hose assembly from the frame and then detach the power steering pressure hose from the retaining clip and remove the rear bracket mounting bolt before extracting the Power Steering Hose assembly from the vehicle. Lift the vehicle and use the extraction end of j 44586 (J 44586) tool to remove the power steering gear oil seal from the power steering gear by applying torque with a flat bladed tool. Use the seal installation end of the j 44586 (J 44586) to install a new power steering gear oil seal into the power steering gear until it reaches full seating. Use the Power Steering Hose assembly and position it in place through bolt tightening to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The steering pressure hose retaining clip must be installed before placing and tightening the front bracket mounting bolt. Tighten both connections between the Power Steering Cooler hose and the Power Steering Pump as well as between the power steering pressure and the pump until reaching 25 n.m torque (18 lb in). Secure the pcm on its bracket after vehicle support then attach the power steering return hose and cooler hose to the Power Steering Cooler. Fasten the Power Steering Hose assembly to the power steering gear through its mounting bolt while tightening it to 12 n.m (106 lb in). As a final step remove the drain pan beneath the vehicle while lowering it to allow power steering system bleeding.

    Q:
How to replace the hydraulic hose on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure starts by moving the electrical harness from the master cylinder position and removing both the line clip which secures the master cylinder and the hydraulic line at the master cylinder. Begin by lifting the vehicle then unfasten the wheelhouse liner before removing the line clip and hydraulic line that connects the vehicle to the clutch concentric actuator. First install the hydraulic line onto the clutch concentric actuator followed by the line clip installation and wheelhouse liner placement. Drop the vehicle and connect the hydraulic line to the master cylinder while securing it with the line clip before moving the electrical harness into place. The hydraulic system requires a fluid addition to the master cylinder while executing a bleed process.

    Q:
How to replace the hydraulic hose for the clutch on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step is to move the electrical harness at the master cylinder, followed by taking off the line clip and hydraulic line. Then, raise the vehicle and take out the wheelhouse liner, and then remove the line clip and hydraulic line from the clutch concentric actuator. As you install the hydraulic line, first put it on the clutch concentric actuator, use the clip to secure it, and reinstall the wheelhouse liner. Bring the vehicle down, join the hydraulic line to the master cylinder, fasten it using the line clip, and afterwards place the electrical harness back. When you have finished, pour fluid into the master cylinder and bleed the entire hydraulic system.
