    Q:
How to replace the Variable Timing Adjuster Magnet on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Variable Timing Adjuster Magnet includes removing the Water Pump. Eliminate the engine harness electrical connector from its mounting position on the variable timing adjuster (VTA) magnet. Detach the vta magnet bolts (751) together with the magnet (752) before discarding the vta magnet gasket (753). Apply gasket installation when making sure that the gasket surface remains free from oil contamination and foreign objects. The vta magnet (752) should be attached to the front cover after installing a new vta magnet gasket (753) onto the vta magnet. Fasten the vta magnet bolts (751) until they reach a torque of 12 nm (106 lb in). The Water Pump installation process requires the vta magnet to be reconnected through its engine harness electrical connector before assembling the part.
