    Q:
How to replace the blower motor resistor on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The right side instrument panel (I/P) insulator should be removed to replace the Blower Motor Resistor. Pull the electrical connector off of the blower resistor, but then using a small chisel break the 2 heat stakes off of the blower resistor before removing the resistor itself. For installation, place the new blower resistor and screw it without hesitation in the pre-drilled holes close to the heat stakes, tighten it using the force of 1.5 N.m (13lb in). Reattach the electrical connector to the blower resistor and reinstall right side I/P insulator. For programming and setup information, refer to Control Module References, for programming and setup.

    Q:
How to replace the HVAC control module on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to switch the HVAC control module requires removal of the instrument panel lower trim plate. The next step involves removing the HVAC control module mounting screws where the module is retained by clips. The HVAC control module must slide backward from the instrument panel to disconnect its electrical connectors for removal. The HVAC control module installation requires the key to be in the off position during connector connection. Place the module in position before tightening 2 N.m (18 lb in) mounting screws. You need to install the instrument panel lower trim plate as your last step. Calibration success depends on avoiding any changes made to HVAC control module controls because nonstandard adjustments can trigger problems with performance. The programming process requires one minute of engine operation to finish.
