    Q:
How to replace the engine mount using the J 41044 and J 28467-B tools on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
A combination of j 41044 (Engine Support Adapters) and j 28467-b (Universal Engine Support Fixture) should be used to lift and support the engine safely so that the oil pan and crankshaft balancer remain untouched to prevent any damage. Start by detaching the generator along with the Ignition Control Module and afterward install the engine support fixture to the engine before lifting the vehicle. First remove the 3-way Catalytic Converter after which workers should remove bolt nuts from the right and left Engine Mount and detach the transmission oil cooler pipe bracket bolt and bracket. Lower the vehicle while you remove the A/C Compressor from its mount but do not conduct a refrigerant recovery operation. Increase the engine slightly to minimize the through bolt tension before unfastening the right and left Engine Mount through bolts. The vehicle requires a slightly greater engine elevation to extract the engine mounts before a second engine lift to eliminate the right and left Engine Mount bolts and their corresponding components. The procedure begins with mounting the left Engine Mount and bolts onto the crossmember before tightening them to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Afterward, install the right Engine Mount and bolts which require similar torque of 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle while aligning mount receptacles with holes and fit Engine Mount through bolts into their designated positions. After reattaching the A/C Compressor users should raise their vehicle to install the transmission oil cooler pipe bracket with its bolt secured at 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Start by inserting the left side Engine Mount through bolt nut and apply torque of 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.) then follow with the right side Engine Mount through bolt nut which needs to be tightened to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). Complete the process by placing back the 3-way Catalytic Converter then lower the vehicle and disconnect the engine support fixture before reinstalling the Ignition Control Module and generator.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Motor and Transmission Mount on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Users must first elevate and stabilize the entire vehicle before setting up safety stands and a transmission stand for assistance during transmission mount service and repair. Place a transmission stand to support the transmission before removing its transmission mount nut and transmission support bolts that leads to the removal of the transmission support. The next step involves separating the transmission mount nuts and bolts together with the transmission mount. Start by positioning the transmission mount correctly and tighten the mount bolts to 48 Nm (36 ft. lbs.). Use the transmission support bolts to attach the transmission support before snugging the bolts down to 57 Nm (43 ft. lbs.). You should install the transmission mount nut followed by a 57 Nm (43 ft. lbs.) torque setting. When done install the transmission mount in its position and tighten the bolts to 48 Nm (36 ft. lbs.). Then install the transmission support bolt it into place and tighten to 57 Nm (43 ft. lbs.). Afterward install the transmission mount nut and tighten to 57 Nm (43 ft. lbs.). Next remove the transmission support along with the safety stands and carefully lower the vehicle.
