The inspection process for transmission mounts begins by placing wooden support between the jack and Oil Pan which prevents damage to the Oil Pan and protects the engine from failure. Raising the transmission/transaxle creates slight tension in the rubber by removing its weight from the transmission/transaxle mount. While doing this, observe the transmission/transaxle mount for any of the following conditions that necessitate replacement: a visual inspection of the hard rubber surface reveals heat check cracks and rubber detachment from metallic plates along with rubber splitting down its middle. Lower the transmission/transaxle then tighten the attaching bolts or nuts which secure the transmission/transaxle mount to its frame or transmission/transaxle mount bracket when movement is detected between mounting plate metal and attachment locations.

A person should begin by supporting the vehicle then placing a screw jack with wood block beneath the Oil Pan before continuing. The lower Engine Mount retaining nut gets removed followed by engine elevation using a screw jack until the mount experiences zero weight. Begin by eliminating the upper Engine Mount retaining nut then retrieve the Engine Mount from the vehicle while guarding the Engine Mount heat shield from any distortion. Before moving onto the left Engine Mount Bracket, remove all retaining bolts from it. The left Engine Mount Bracket installation begins with mounting the bracket followed by tightening its bolts to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). Install the Engine Mount to its vehicle position before installing the upper mount retaining nut which needs a torque force of 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). To put the weight on the mount lower the engine with the screw jack and install the lower retaining nut while tightening it to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). Remove the screw jack together with blocking wood from underneath the Oil Pan before allowing the vehicle to descend to the ground.

Starting a rear-wheel drive transmission rear mount replacement requires vehicle lifting combined with supporting its weight. Next, remove the exhaust system. Place suitable blocking between a transmission support and its jack before you remove body mounting bolts from the transmission support and transmission mounting bolts from the transmission support. The first step is removing the transmission mount from your vehicle. When installing the transmission mount place it directly on the vehicle while making sure to follow the provided fastener instructions. Secure the transmission through its support bolts then tighten them until they reach 60 N.m (44 lb ft). Position the transmission mount before screwing it to body mounting bolts while using 60 N.m (44 lb ft) of torque. Before you can continue, remove the transmission support then install the exhaust system followed by lowering the vehicle.

The replacement process of the left Engine Mount begins with lifting and supporting the vehicle through installation of a screw jack fitted with wood under the Oil Pan. Using a screw jack with wood underneath the Oil Pan you can elevate the engine to remove its lower engine mounting retaining nut thus relieving pressure from the mount. Before proceeding with replacement start by uninstalling the upper Engine Mount retaining nut after which remove the Engine Mount from the vehicle. The installation process starts by putting the new Engine Mount onto position while you should torque the upper Engine Mount retaining nut to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). Lift the engine using the screw jack until the mount surface enables you to introduce the lower retaining nut which should be tightened to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.) torque. You must lower the vehicle after you remove the screw jack as well as the block of wood from under the Oil Pan.

Begin the transmission mount replacement process by lifting the all-wheel-drive vehicle off the ground and using supports underneath it. Next, remove the exhaust system. Use a suitable jack alongside a block of wood to support the transmission before you disconnect the transmission vent hose from its retainers on the mount assembly. Take out the transmission mount support assembly by removing the bolts securing it to the body and those anchoring it to the transfer case. Begin transmission mount support assembly installation by properly positioning the structure then secure bolts following this sequence: first install transmission mount support to transfer case mounting bolts while tightening the right bolt to 110 Nm (81 lb ft) and the left bolt to 110 Nm (81 lb ft). Start by hand-installing the transmission mount support to transfer case mounting bolts before tightening both right side and left side bolts to 110 Nm (81 lb ft). Locate the transmission mount support to both body mounting bolts followed by tightening these bolts to a torque of 60 Nm (44 lb ft). After reinstalling the exhaust system and lowering the vehicle restarted the process by reattaching the transmission vent hose to the mount assembly retainers.

The first step to replace the right side Engine Mount (w/RWD) should begin by elevating and stabilizing the vehicle. The installation requires a screw jack with a wooden block underneath the Oil Pan which supports the engine. Then the lower mounting nut needs removal. You should use the screw jack to lift the engine until all weight rests on it and remove both the upper Engine Mount retaining nut and Engine Mount. Install the Engine Mount onto the vehicle before hand-tightening the upper mount retaining nut to 80 n.m (59 lb ft). When the weight rests on the mount you should lower the engine using the screw jack before installing and tightening the Engine Mount retaining nut to 80 n.m (59 lb ft). Completing installation involves removing first the jack screw together with the block of wood supporting the Oil Pan before lowering the vehicle.

Reinstall the transmission support and lower the vehicle.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Remove the transmission support, reinstall the exhaust system, and lower the vehicle.

Lower the engine using the screw jack until it rests on the mount.

Install the new transmission mount and upper mounting bolts, tightening them to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).

Use a screw jack with a block of wood under the oil pan for support.

Follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Remove the screw jack, reinstall the left catalytic converter, and lower the vehicle.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Remove the right engine mount bracket.

Remove the right engine mount bracket.

The screw jack and block of wood from under the oil pan.

Remove the transmission support, reinstall the exhaust system, and lower the vehicle.

Install the transmission mount to body mounting bolts, also tightening them to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).

In the correct order.

Remove the screw jack and block of wood from under the oil pan and lower the vehicle.

110 N.m (81 lb ft) for both.

Take out the engine mount from the vehicle.

Install the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts and tighten them to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

Position the engine mount back into place, ensuring to adhere to the Fastener Notice.

Discharge the air conditioning (A/C) system.

The hard rubber surface shows heat check cracks, the rubber is separated from the metal plate, or the rubber is split through the center.

Remove the lower engine mount retaining nut.

Install the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts and tighten them to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).
