Vehicle elevation must begin before the left Engine Mount replacement can start. Begin the replacement procedure by taking off the tire and wheel followed by separating the front propeller shaft from 4wd vehicles. The operation to replace the left Engine Mount begins with unscrewing bolts between the frame and engine at the wheel well but users should not use a jack beneath the Oil Pan or sheet metal or crankshaft balancer to prevent damage. Start lifting the engine until you can remove the Engine Mount before stabilizing the motor with adjustable screw-type jackstands. First remove the front Engine Mount from its location on the engine mounting bolts which are accessible through the wheel well followed by removing the rear Engine Mount from under the vehicle that also connects to engine mounting bolts before properly extracting the mount from the vehicle. The mounting process begins with installation of the Engine Mount onto the vehicle followed by mounting the rear engine piece to the engine bolts beneath the vehicle yet leaving the fasteners loose. Set up the front Engine Mount onto the engine mounting bolts while going through the wheel well then tighten it to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Position the engine at the proper height while using a wheel well to bolt the mount to frame through which use 60 nm (44 lb ft) torque. 4wd vehicle owners should put back the front propeller shaft and follow with tire and wheel installation before lowering the vehicle.

It is necessary to lift the vehicle after supporting it with a transmission jack before replacing the transmission mount of a 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic transmission. A transmission jack should lift the transmission for support and a technician can remove the transmission support crossmember. Start by disconnecting rwd vehicle transmission mount bolts and then move on to 4wd vehicles until the transmission mount is completely separated. Position the new transmission mount where it belongs after which install all the 4wd vehicle mounting bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft) torque followed by rwd vehicle mounting bolts also fastened to 50 nm (37 lb ft) torque. The new transmission crossmember should be installed at this time then workers should remove their transmission jack before lowering the vehicle.

Starting the process of transmission mount replacement for a 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic transmission requires vehicle elevation and support before proceeding. A transmission jack should support the transmission before you uninstall the transmission support crossmember. Start by taking out the transmission mount mounting bolts for rwd vehicles then move on to disassemble the mounting bolts for 4wd vehicles prior to removing the transmission mount from the vehicle. Position the new transmission mount while installing the mounting bolts for 4wd vehicles then tighten them to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Repeat this process with rwd vehicles. The support crossmember for the transmission should be placed back followed by taking away the transmission jack and letting the vehicle go back to ground level.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Reinstall the right side exhaust manifold and the starter.

Install the mounting bolts for RWD vehicles, also tightened to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

A transmission jack.

Remove the right side exhaust manifold.

Remove the bolts for 4WD vehicles and then remove the transmission mount from the vehicle.

Use adjustable (screw type) jackstands for support.

Install the engine mount to the frame mounting bolts through the wheel well, tightening to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

Lower the vehicle.

Install the engine mount to the vehicle.

Remove the transmission jack and lower the vehicle.

Remove the front engine mount to the engine mounting bolts through the wheel well, then the rear engine mount to the engine mounting bolts from under the vehicle, and finally take the engine mount out of the vehicle.

Remove the transmission jack and lower the vehicle.

Raise the engine only enough to allow for the removal of the engine mount, using adjustable (screw type) jackstands for support.

Remove the transmission support.
