Lower Mount

The front Engine Mount requires removal at the beginning followed by turning off the 2 upper bolts (Wrench) that link the mount bracket to the Cylinder Head afterward you must detach the 2 nuts (Socket) securing this bracket to the engine block. Begin by taking out the bolt (Socket) which affixes the brace to the transaxle and the transaxle support brace followed by the front Engine Mount Bracket. Install the front Engine Mount Bracket to the engine by first placing it against the Cylinder Head and loosely screwing in the 2 upper bolts with wrench. Subsequent to reading the fastener notice in service precautions the installer can begin attaching the transaxle support brace yet leave the bracket nuts and brace loose. The installation requires torque tightening the lower Engine Mount Bracket nuts to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) and the transaxle support brace bolt to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) while tightening the 2 upper Engine Mount Bracket bolts also to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Set the front Engine Mount into place as the last step.

Start by raising the vehicle to check that the transmission/transaxle mount leaked fluid instead of any other engine part. A block of wood should be placed across the Oil Pan's bottom to prevent damage while resting against the jack support. Next, raise the transmission/transaxle to create slight tension in the mount and observe it for any of the following conditions: examinations for transmission/transaxle mounts require assessment of three key signs: heat check cracks on the hard rubber surface together with rubber delamination from metal plates and vertical splitting inside the mount's central region. Any sign of these listed conditions requires immediate transmission/transaxle mount replacement. Mount swapping procedures should start with automatic transmission mount replacement - left followed by automatic transmission mount replacement - rear then automatic transmission mount bracket replacement - left before ending with transmission mount bracket replacement - rear. Movement detected between metal mount components requires transmission/transaxle lowering followed by tightening bolts or nuts which secure the mount to both frame and bracket. Remove the bolts and the nut securing the mount to the frame, and then take out the mount.

Take out the mount.

Remove the nut and bolt securing the right engine mount to the frame rail, followed by the 2 nuts securing the right engine mount to the frame rail.

Remove the nut securing the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.

Reinstall the engine frame and secure the front engine mount to the engine frame with the nut, tightening it to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).

Raise and support the vehicle, then remove the right front wheel.

Raise the engine and transmission assembly into position.

Position the mount to the rail and install the attaching bolt and nut to the rail, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the mount attaching bolt and nut to the frame, ensuring to adhere to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Use a suitable jack to support the engine assembly.

First, raise the vehicle and verify any suspected fluid loss is from the transmission/transaxle mount, not the engine or other components.
