Start your brake shield replacement work by lifting and stabilizing the vehicle. Take off the wheel and tire unit. Supporting the brake caliper with strong mechanic wire during detachment from its mount is necessary to prevent damage of the hydraulic hose and brake fluid leakage. Take both the brake caliper and its bracket away from the suspension knuckle while keeping the hydraulic brake hose tension free. Lbs.). Begin installation of the park brake shoe assembly by grasping the shoe then slightly opening it before pulling the shoe across the actuator assembly. Then place and tighten the park brake shoe hold down spring. Adjust the park brake then reinstall the rear Wheel Hub with bearing assembly before you install the rear tire wheel assembly and complete the process by lowering the vehicle down.

Begin by adjusting the park brake and reinstall the rear Wheel Hub together with the bearing assembly. Proceed by reattaching the rear tire and wheel assembly and finally lower the vehicle.

Clean any rust or contaminants from the wheel bearing flange and brake rotor mating surfaces using the Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit (J 42450-A) to prevent increased lateral runout and brake pulsation.

Move the actuator retaining tab outward and install the actuator to the backing plate.
