    Q:
How to replace the vacuum brake booster on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by taking off the Brake Master Cylinder followed by disconnecting and taking out the check valve from its position on the vacuum booster. Start by removing the Pushrod retainer Pushrod and stoplamp switch from the Brake Pedal. Then disconnect the retaining nuts that hold the power Brake Booster to the Brake Pedal bracket. Take out the vacuum booster and its engine cowl gasket from their position on the front engine compartment. Place the gasket first between the power Brake Booster and front engine cowl before installing the power Brake Booster to its position. Begin by fastening the Brake Booster power nut retainers to the Brake Pedal bracket per this order and recheck torque after every step: right lower nuts to 36 nm (27 ft lbs.) first, then left upper nuts to 36 nm (27 ft lbs.), left lower nuts to 36 nm (27 ft lbs.), and right upper nuts to 36 nm (27 ft lbs.). Fit the stoplamp switch together with Pushrod and Pushrod retainer to the Brake Pedal then connect the check valve to the power Brake Booster and add the vacuum hose to the check valve. Connect the Brake Master Cylinder to the power Brake Booster while bleed the brake system.
