    Q:
How to replace the oil pump in the 4T65-E Automatic Transaxle on Buick Lucerne? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for the 4t65-e automatic transaxle Oil Pump begins with unfastening the case side cover. First drain the Oil Pump bolts (230, 231) followed by extracting the Oil Pump (200) from the Valve Body (300). Thorough cleaning followed by complete examination of the Oil Pump needs to happen first. Position the Oil Pump (200) on the Valve Body (300) once you have secured it and then proceed to bolt (230, 231) into place. Secure the ten m6 x 1.0 x 85 bolts (231) with a torque of 12 n.m (106 lb in) and fix the two m6 x 1.0 x 95 bolts (230) at 16 n.m (12 lb ft). The use of a scan tool allows resetting transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) values while wiping all learned values for all cells but this process affects transmission performance due to Engine Control Module (ECM) or powertrain control module (PCM) or transmission control module (TCM) requirements to learn tap values. To complete the repair process replace the case side cover.

    Q:
Why is it important to reset the TAP values for the 2009 Buick Lucerne? Posted by Customer
    A:
Resetting the TAP values requires the ECM, PCM, or TCM to relearn TAP values, which may affect transmission performance.
