The maf/iat sensor installation process requires the installation of the sensor in the correct direction where the embossed arrow points towards the engine to show correct airflow. Mount the maf/iat sensor onto the air cleaner housing and fasten it with bolts tightened to 11 n.m (97 lb in). The maf/iat sensor clamp requires tightening before reconnecting the air cleaner assembly with air cleaner duct placement and attachment of the maf/iat electrical connector.

    Replacement of the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor begins with disconnecting its electrical connector and removing the air cleaner assembly. Start by releasing the clamp around the Mass Air Flow Sensor/iat sensor located in the air cleaner duct. After this, remove the bolts from the sensor which inserts into the air cleaner assembly to successfully extract the Mass Air Flow Sensor/iat sensor from the air cleaner. The embossed arrow on the Mass Air Flow Sensor/iat sensor should face the engine direction before the sensor can be installed onto the air cleaner housing using retaining bolts that require 11 n.m (97 lb in) of torque force. To install the Mass Air Flow Sensor/iat sensor first fasten the clamp before reattaching the air cleaner assembly to its place and attaching the Mass Air Flow Sensor/iat electrical connector. You must handle the Mass Air Flow Sensor/iat sensor with care to protect the honeycell and sensing elements while applying a small amount of non-silicone based lubricant on the air duct to help with installation.
