    Q:
How to replace the fuel pressure sensor in the fuel injection fuel rail on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to empty fuel system pressure before starting the Fuel Pressure Sensor replacement operation in the fuel injection Fuel Rail. The replacement of the Fuel Pressure Sensor in the fuel injection Fuel Rail begins by removing both the cross vehicle brace together with the Intake Manifold followed by extraction of the foam insulator from the fuel rails. Do not place any force directly on the plastic sensor housing but apply force only on the hexagon components attached to it. A 27 mm socket allows safe removal of the Fuel Pressure Sensor from the fuel injection Fuel Rail . Discard this sensor when it is removed. Let all fuel drain out from the Fuel Rail and sensor location while using a lint-free cloth to dry the sealing cone in the Fuel Rail along with the sensor joint area. Check the sealing cone for absence of fuel while inspecting it for debris and burrs. Silicon-free engine oil gm p/n 12345610 (Canadian P/N 993193) or its equivalent should be used to lubricate threads and sealing cone areas in both the Fuel Rail and new fuel injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor. The new Fuel Pressure Sensor should be torqued to the fuel injection Fuel Rail with low force before removal for reapplication of earlier instructed lubrication steps. Fasten the new Fuel Pressure Sensor to the fuel injection Fuel Rail by torquing it to 33 nm (25 lb ft). Replace the foam insulator along with the Intake Manifold. A faulty Fuel Rail demands complete replacement when fuel leakage happens at this location. Before inspecting for leaks turn the ignition on with the engine off for 2 seconds, wait 10 seconds for the ignition off state followed by turning on the ignition with the engine off before inspecting for leakage. As a final step replace the cross vehicle brace installation.
