    Q:
How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for Bank 1 on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the 'heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)' for bank 1, start by making sure the ignition is off. Carefully disconnect the Oxygen Sensor 1 connector and carefully remove the Oxygen Sensor being careful not to expose it to grease, dirt or any contaminant on the in-line connector, then the louvered end being concerned with no rough handling or dropping the o2s 1 in order to avoid damaging the threads in the Exhaust Manifold/pipe you need to avoid doing any kind of damage or breaking threads in the exhaust in both of them the manifold and the pipe as well until it reaches the temperature of 48c of 120f. While installing the new or service Oxygen Sensor insert a special anti-seize compound having liquid graphite and glass bead composition should be applied to the threads if required since this will make it easy during the next removal process. Mount the Oxygen Sensor and tighten 41 n.m (30 lb ft) and then reconnect the o2s 1 connector.
