The first step to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 involves vehicle elevation. First disconnect the connector for the HO2S before removing the HO2S with the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B). Prior to sensor installation you should apply GM P/N 5613695 anti-seize compound to threads if needed because this compound made from liquid graphite and glass beads will help with future sensor removal procedures. Use the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) to install the HO2S then fasten it to a torque of 42 N.m (31 lb ft). Use the oxygen sensor wrench to connect the HO2S harness connector then lower the vehicle.
