Rear Speaker

Crew Cab owners need to remove the door trim panel before starting the rear side door speaker replacement process. Beginning the upgrade first requires you to remove screws holding the speaker to its bracket followed by unhooking its electrical connector. Uninstall the speaker from its mounting bracket after detaching both the door bolts which support the bracket in place. The first step for installation involves setting the speaker mounting bracket correctly followed by installing bolts to attach it to the door while tightening them to reach 6 N.m (53 lb in). Upon completion, fit the speaker on its bracket then restore electrical connection between them. Reinstall the door trim panel after securing the speaker with screws which should be tightened to 2 N.m (53 lb in). You should check the component works properly after completing the installation steps.

Move the console forward to reconnect the wire connector.

Remove the 4 retaining bolts from the speaker and disconnect the wire connector before taking the speaker out of the subwoofer assembly.

Push down on the top retainer to remove the speaker and disconnect the electrical connector.

Position the speaker mounting bracket and, if it was removed, install the bolts to secure it to the door, tightening them to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

Press the speaker back in until it is fully seated.

Verify the component's operation.

Disconnect the wire connector and take out the speaker from the subwoofer assembly.

Reconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the speaker from the mounting bracket, and if necessary, take out the bolts that hold the speaker mounting bracket to the door before removing the bracket itself.
