    Q:
How to replace the steering knuckle on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace the Steering Knuckle in a 2005 cadillac sts (AWD) model by elevating the car, removing tire and wheel and wheel bearing/hub in succession. You must first detach the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle then break the brake hose bracket retaining bolts. After removing the Steering Knuckle ball stud retaining nuts from both the upper control arm ball stud and lower control arm ball stud you can separate the Steering Knuckle from its installation position. The installation process starts by connecting the new Steering Knuckle to the lower control arm ball stud then completing it with a new retaining nut. Fasten the upper control arm ball stud to the Steering Knuckle by using a new retaining nut. Fasten the brake hose bracket in place with retaining bolts tightened to 14 n.m (10 ft.lb.) and attach the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle. Reinstall the wheel bearing/hub and tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle back down.
