How to replace the steering knuckle on 2006 Cadillac STS?

Start by raising and supporting the vehicle before removing the tire and wheel. Next, remove the wheel bearing/hub. Disconnect the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle using the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) along with a retaining nut removal process. Start by removing the brake hose bracket retaining bolts followed by the upper control arm ball stud retaining nut to separate the upper control arm ball stud from the Steering Knuckle. Use the ball joint remover tool (J 43631) to remove the lower control arm ball stud from the Steering Knuckle after first taking off the retaining nut. To install the new Steering Knuckle into the lower control arm ball stud friction-tighten a new retaining nut until it reaches 20 n.m (15 lb ft) then rotate it an extra 210 degrees. Install a new retaining nut on the upper control arm ball stud and torque it identically as described for the lower control arm ball stud. The brake hose bracket should be reinstalled onto the Steering Knuckle followed by connecting the outer tie rod and tightening its retaining nut to 70 n.m (52 lb ft). Reinstall the wheel bearing/hub assembly before installing the tire and wheel then return the vehicle to the ground.
