How to Replace Coil Springs on 2006 Cadillac STS?

To replace the coil spring, lift and support the vehicle, and then tire and wheel removal. Remove from the upper Control Arm the automatic level control sensor link and head lamp adjustment link. Raise the lower Control Arm with an appropriate jack to support it, then unbolt the shock absorber lower mounting bolt. Lower the lower Control Arm and remove the support and then jack up the rear frame with an appropriate jack into position. It is required to take out the frame bolts on the side where this coil-spring replacement will occur i.e. The frame to body side mounting bolts and washers. Bring down the frame to be able to drop the coil spring without penetrating the guide pins and remove the coil spring. For installation, install the new coil spring on the frame of the vehicle and lift with the frame. Mount the frame to body mounting bolts and washers, and tighten the front bolts to 265 nm (195 ft. Lbs.), and the rear bolts to 191 nm (140 ft. Lbs.). Take off from the vehicle and then fix a suitable jack under a lower Control Arm and subsequently raise it to match the shock absorber with the knuckle. Mount the shock absorber lower retaining bolt, and apply 150 nm (111 ft. Lbs.) torque. Remove the jack again, connect the head lamp adjustment link and the automatic level control sensor link to the upper Control Arm, replace the tire and wheel, and lastly lower down the vehicle.
