    Before tackling the stop lamp switch replacement you must disconnect the battery negative cable while following battery disconnect caution instructions. First step is to disconnect the brake pedal pin retainer and then separate the switch unit from the Pushrod for the brake pedal. Also disconnect the electrical connector. To install the system connect the electrical cable first and then put the Pushrod and switch parts onto the brake pedal pin before placing the retainer over it. Rejoin the battery terminal connector last.

    Disconnect the electrical connector from the old stop lamp switch before you remove the Pushrod from the brake pedal pin and take out the switch and the Pushrod. Push the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch then install it with the Pushrod onto the brake pedal pin afterward put the Pushrod retainer back on to secure the brake pedal pin.

Afterward attach the stop lamp switch and Pushrod onto the brake pedal pin then put the Pushrod retainer back onto the brake pedal pin to lock everything in place.

    You need to start work on the brake light switch by taking off the left closeout insulator panel. Untwist the stoplamp switch electrical connector then take off the pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin and detach the stoplamp switch from the brake pedal pin. After placing the stoplamp switch onto the brake pedal pin snap on the pushrod retainer at the same location. Connect the stoplamp switch electrical connector and place the left insulator panel back into position.

Unsnap the brake pedal pin retainer then pull the Brake Light Switch and Pushrod off their respective brake pedal pin brackets and disconnect the electrical connector. Plugs the electrical connector first then places the switch and Pushrod onto the brake pedal pin before inserting the retainer onto the brake pedal pin. Once done disconnect the black battery terminal.
