    Q:
How to replace the Secondary Air Injection Check Valve/Pipe on Bank 2 on Chevrolet Suburban 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Secondary Air Injection Check Valve/pipe on bank 2, remove the clamps and air hoses from the air system right pipe and disconnect the check valve from the air pipe and the right air pipe from the Exhaust Manifold. Before replacing the existing check valve, test the existing check valve by connecting a Vacuum Pump to the nipple side (AIR pump side) of the check valve and pumping up to 10 inches h g and observing the gauge. If the bleed down time of the vacuum to zero is less than 5 seconds, the check valve should be replaced. To install the new check valve, attach the same to the air pipe and tighten it at a torque value of 23 n.m (17 lb ft) then connect the right air pipe to the Exhaust Manifold and tighten it to a torque value of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Finally, install the hose and clamp to the check valve and check air system for proper operation.

    Q:
How to service the Air Inject Check Valve on Chevrolet Suburban 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The next step for servicing the air injection control valve begins with removing the clamp securing the Air Hose first from the air pump assembly base followed by the clamp securing the Air Hose from the air pump shut-off valve. Detach the vacuum line from the vacuum port of the air pump shut-off valve while removing the Air Hose from its outlet port. Proceed by releasing the air pump shut-off valve inlet port so it disconnects from the outlet hose of the air pump. The installation sequence begins by hooking up the air pump outlet hose to the air pump shut-off valve inlet port after which the vacuum line should be joined to the air pump shut-off valve vacuum port. Reposition the Air Hose to join the air pump shut-off valve inlet port before fastening it with a clamp while connecting the Air Hose to the air pump assembly base with a clamp.

    Q:
How to replace the Secondary Air Injection Check Valve/Pipe on Bank 1 on GMC Yukon XL 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for replacing the bank 1 Secondary Air Injection Check Valve/pipe involves removing its clamp then disconnecting the Air Hose. The replacement process begins by six steps. The technician must first remove the check valve from the left air pipe before taking out the air pipe from the Exhaust Manifold. The check valve replacement requires a valve operation inspection through a Vacuum Pump connection to the check valve nipple (AIR pump side) with 10 inches hg pressure and 5-second vacuum decay observation for decision-making. The check valve installation requires the attachment to the air pipe with 23 n.m (17 lb ft) torque followed by the air pipe hook-up to the Exhaust Manifold using 20 n.m (15 lb ft) torque. Last step involves attaching the hose from the check valve and tightening it with the provided clamp.
