As a first step for thermal expansion valve replacement you need to recover the refrigerant from the system. Begin by extracting the outlet duct of the air cleaner followed by removing any windshield washer solvent heaters which may exist. Disconnect the evaporator thermal expansion valve (TXV) tube from the TXV followed by discarding the seal washers before removing the TXV bolts and extracting the TXV while again discarding the washers. New seal washers should be placed on evaporator core fittings before installing the TXV and the TXV bolts need to be tightened to 5 N.m (44 lb in). New sealing washers should be added to the evaporator TXV tube fittings before connecting the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the TXV which requires tightening the TXV nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). To finish the procedure you need to conduct a leak check on the fittings through use of the J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector. Install back the air cleaner outlet duct and reattach the windshield washer solvent heater if removed and evacuate and charge the refrigerant system.

The first task for A/C Expansion Valve replacement is to retrieve any refrigerant. Beginning the replacement process starts with unattaching the duct to the air cleaner outlet and disconnecting the windshield washer solvent heater when present. The installation starts by detaching the A/C Expansion Valve tube from the A/C Expansion Valve after discarding both seal washers and A/C Expansion Valve bolts before removing the unit itself. The installation of the A/C Expansion Valve seal strip should begin by positioning it over the dome at the top of the A/C Expansion Valve before extending down both sides. New seal washers should be installed on evaporator core fittings before placing the A/C Expansion Valve into position and screwing in the A/C Expansion Valve bolts with assistance from a small Phillips screwdriver. Secure the A/C Expansion Valve bolts at 5 Nm (44 lb in) torque. Then install new sealing washers to the evaporator A/C Expansion Valve tube fittings followed by connecting the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the A/C Expansion Valve and tightening the A/C Expansion Valve nut to 20 Nm (15 lb ft). Complete the process by evacuating and refrigerant system charging. Reinstall the windshield washer solvent heater prior to installing the air cleaner outlet duct when the heater was removed. Finally the J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector should check for leaks in the fittings.

A replacement of the A/C Expansion Valve begins by recovering the refrigerant from the system. First remove the tube connected to the Evaporator A/C Expansion Valve from the A/C Expansion Valve component before discarding the seal washers and A/C Expansion Valve bolts to safely extract the A/C Expansion Valve itself. The installation process starts by applying new seal washers on the Evaporator core fittings after which you can install the A/C Expansion Valve. When installing the A/C Expansion Valve bolts exercise caution because a small phillips screwdriver can help position the bolts correctly while applying torque to 5 nm (44 lb in). New sealing washers must be installed on the Evaporator A/C Expansion Valve tube fittings before connecting the condenser tube and Evaporator hose to the A/C Expansion Valve and securing the A/C Expansion Valve nut to 20 nm. The last step involves evacuation of the refrigerant system and reinstallation of the windshield washer solvent heater if it was removed along with replacement of the air cleaner outlet duct. The j 39400-a halogen leak detector should be used to test the fittings for leaks.

The first step for A/C Expansion Valve replacement requires proper recovery of refrigerant. Start by disconnecting both the condenser tube plus the evaporator hose off the A/C expansion valve. Remove and discard the original seal washers from each connection. You need to uninstall the A/C Expansion Valve by first removing its bolts before extracting it from its position. Start installation by installing new seal washers to the evaporator core fittings and then add the A/C Expansion Valve. Secure the A/C Expansion Valve bolts at 7 N.m torque setting (62 lb inch torques). After fitting new sealing washers to both condenser tube and evaporator hose connections you can connect the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the A/C Expansion Valve. The installation ends with tightening the A/C Expansion Valve nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). Evacuate then charge the refrigerant system before conducting a leak test on the fittings through use of the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
