How to Service and Repair the Brake Backing Plate on 2000 Buick Century?

To service and repair the backing plate, do the following: raise and support the vehicle appropriately. The first step is to take out the tires and wheels with the brake shoes. Next remove the Wheel Cylinder and take out the Parking Brake Cable from the backing plate. Take off the rear Wheel Hub and then the backing plate. For installation, back plate is first installed followed by the rear Wheel Hub. Reconnect the cable parking brake to the backing plate and apply the Wheel Cylinder. Proceed to bleed the brake hydraulic and adjust drum brakes as well as the parking brake. Finally, replace the tires and wheels, and then lower the vehicle.
