2000 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the Vacuum Brake Booster on 2000 Buick Park Avenue?
A: First disconnect the booster vacuum hose from the vacuum check valve. Separate the master cylinder attaching nuts then free the master cylinder from the booster while keeping it out of the booster tip without twisting or misshaping the brake lines. Begin with removing the booster studs' acoustical barrier from underneath the instrument panel before their attaching nuts. Turn the entire brake unit for Pushrod removal while avoiding side pressure on the Pushrod and afterward extricate the booster with its gasket from the vehicle. Place the gasket over the booster unit before returning it to the vehicle installation location. Turn the Brake Pedal to slide in the booster Pushrod when fitting it to the pedal clevis pin. Place the acoustical barrier on top of the booster studs under the dashboard before tightening the booster nuts to 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). Place the master cylinder on the booster and join the booster vacuum hose to its associated check valve.
