2000 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2000 Buick Park Avenue?
A: Start brake hose replacement by lifting and supporting your vehicle before taking off the wheel and tire assembly. Eliminate all dirt and foreign particles from the brake hose and pipe fittings. Plug the open brake pipe end with a rubber cap to avoid brake fluid leaks and contamination. Work to remove the brake hose retainer using a flat tool before taking the brake hose out from its bracket. Undo the brake caliper bolt and take out the brake hose and discard both copper gaskets that stick to the caliper. Plugging the brake caliper bolt hole with rubber seals protects brake fluid from leaking during work. To install the brake hose replace the rubber plug then use new copper brake hose gaskets along with the brake hose bolt assembly. Mount the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper at 45 nm torque, but avoid twisting or bending the hose during installation. Put the brake hose in place under its bracket then lock the hose retainer while taking off the rubber protection from the brake pipe fitting. Secure the brake pipe fitting directly onto the brake hose with 15 newton-meter torque. Drive the vehicle only when you have firm pedal brake control because air in the brake system can steal your brakes and put your safety at risk. Press brake caliper bleed at its screw port and reinstall the wheel assembly before letting the vehicle down.
