    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start repairs by lifting and stabilizing the vehicle and taking off the wheel with its tire. Use a cleaning process to remove all foreign substance from both brake hose and brake pipe connections. After cleaning the brake pipe fittings use a rubber cover to seal the exposed end against brake fluid leaks. Use a cap to seal the brake pipe fitting end following its disconnect from the brake hose. A flat tool will separate the brake hose retainer so you can pull the hose from its bracket. Replace the two stuck brake hose gaskets when removing the brake hose from the brake caliper bolt and unfastening the hose from the caliper. Seal the exposed brake pipe fitting end one more time. Place a rubber plug into the bolt hole between brake hose and caliper. To install place new copper brake hose gaskets correctly when you take out the rubber plug. Install the new brake hose over the updated gaskets then insert the brake hose to caliper bolt with 44 newton-meter torque. Keep the hose fully straight during assembly to prevent deformation. Use the retainer to secure the brake hose bracket connection. Using a socket tool, attach the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose by inserting it through the rubber cap at the hose end and tightening it to 15 nm. Drain the brake hoses then put back the tire and wheel unit before lowering the car down.

    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before you start work on the rear brake hose you must lift the vehicle and put it stable while removing the wheel and tire set. Eliminate dirt from both brake hose and fitting parts prior to placing protective rubber seals across the open brake pipe end. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the brake hose retainer before taking the brake pipe fitting off from the brake hose. Take out the brake hose from its slot on the bracket and brake caliper before discarding both copper brake hose gaskets which tend to stick to their ports. Insert a rubber plug into the bolt opening of the brake caliper to stop fluid leakage while working on the system. Unplug the rubber cap first then install new copper brake hose gaskets. Join the brake hose bolt with its gaskets and fix it onto the brake caliper with a torque of 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs). Also normalize the hose position to avoid twists or kinks during fitting. Focalize the brake hose to its bracket position and push install its retention part. Secure the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose by pushing it in and giving 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) tightening pressure. Once complete remove the wheel and replace it on the vehicle by bleeding the brake caliper through its screw.
