How to service the camshaft position sensor on 2000 Cadillac DeVille?

Before removing the camshaft sensor first disconnect its electrical connector then undo the camshaft retaining bolt followed by removing the sensor from its position. The camshaft sensor O-ring needs inspection for damage and wear before ordering a replacement as needed. Apply engine oil to the O-ring before seated the CMP sensor to the edge in order to prevent a DTC related to the CMP sensor. Mount and fix the camshaft sensor by using the retaining bolt according to a torque requirement of 8-11N.m or 70-100 pound inches. Complete the process by connecting the camshaft sensor electrical connector then start the engine while verifying for oil leakage around the sensor area.
