Begin servicing the Bank 1 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor when the engine achieves a temperature of at least 48°C (120°F) because removal becomes easier. Apply anti-seize compound P/N 5613695 or its equivalent at the sensor threads for reused instruments because new service sensors receive a special anti-seize treatment. Start by lifting and securing the vehicle before removing its pre- or post-converter oxygen sensor electrical connection then unmount the sensor. Plug the pre-or post-converter oxygen sensor through tight installation by torquing it to 41 N.m (30 lb ft). Always position connectors under the harness heat shield to protect them from damage. To complete the procedure reconnect the electrical connector then lower the vehicle.
