To replace the sensor, the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) bank 1 sensor 2, make sure that the engine temperature is above 48°c (120°F), so that removal is easier. Apply anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 on the threads of a rebuilt sensor as service new sensors are pre-coated. Start by lifting and supporting the vehicle followed by the removal of heat shield. Remove the heated Oxygen Sensor electrical connector and remove the sensor. To install, seat the new heated Oxygen Sensor and tighten to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Connect the electrical connector again, ensuring proper installation beneath the harness heat shield so that it is not damaged. Finally, re-install the heat shield and lower the vehicle.
