How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on Cadillac DeVille?

A heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) bank 1 sensor 1 replacement requires an engine temperature of at least 48°c (120°F) for proper extraction. Reused sensors get a pre-applied protective coating from the manufacturer but you should apply anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 or equivalent to their threads before reusing them. First secure the vehicle and support it from the ground before you begin to support the rear powertrain frame. Lower framework by no more than 76 mm (3 inches) when you remove the four rear frame bolts. Use a screwdriver to disconnect the rear Oxygen Sensor electrical connector while you pull out the sensor from the rear Exhaust Manifold. Insert the rear Oxygen Sensor into the rear Exhaust Manifold before torquing it to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). The replacement process begins by connecting the rear Oxygen Sensor connector followed by frame elevation. Then reinstall the set of four rear frame bolts while tightening them to 100 n.m (74 lb ft). Finally, lower the vehicle down.
