How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on 2004 Cadillac DeVille?

Before removing the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) bank 1 sensor 1 the engine temperature must exceed 48°c (120°F) to perform the operation. A reused sensor requires anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 or equivalent on its threads but new service sensors arrive with this material already installed. Lift and stabilize the vehicle next support the powertrain frame's rear section before uninstalling all 4 bolts which secure the rear frame. Prior to extracting the rear o2s from the rear Exhaust Manifold lower the frame to a maximum of 76 mm (3 inches) while also disconnecting the rear o2s electrical connector. Set the rear o2s inside the rear Exhaust Manifold while applying 41 n.m (30 lb ft) torque to secure it. After reconnecting the rear o2s connector raise the frame then install and tighten all 4 rear frame bolts to 100 n.m (74 lb ft). Lower the vehicle and complete a code clear as the last step.
