How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2004 Cadillac DeVille?

First, lift and support the vehicle to change the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor. Remove the oil filter adaptor; after that, unscrew the crankshaft sensor electrical connector, and unscrew the retaining bolt, then pull the crankshaft sensor out. Check the condition of the Crankshaft Sensor O-ring (worn out or damaged) and replace it if needed and lubricate it using clean engine oil. Mounting the crankshaft sensor and fix it with the retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Reattach the crankshaft sensor electrical connector, return oil filter adaptor, and replace the Air Deflector. Lower the vehicle and inspect for any leak of oil at the crankshaft sensor by starting the vehicle. Lastly, run the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure.
