  A: To service and repair the suspension strut, start by collecting the tools required: holding fixture base assembly (J3289-20), strut spring compressor (J34013-B), damper rod clamp (J34013-20), strut alignment rod (J34013-38), and strut compressor lower adapter (J34013-971). Replace the strut with the one from the vehicle, being cautious not to chip or scratch the coating of the suspension coil spring since damage to the paint will cause an early failure. Then, load the strut assembly into the strut spring compressor (J34013-B) and turn the spring compressor scrue until the spring slightly compresses. Hold onto the strut shaft and take off the strut shaft nut thereafter,, guide the strut shaft out of the strut assembly using the suitable tool while loosening the compressor screw. Keep swelling until you can delete the strut and spring.
