  A: Lash Adjuster replacement starts with removing the proper Camshaft cover before extracting the Camshaft. When reusing followers and lash adjusters they must be placed correctly for their original positions. Clear away the Camshaft followers together with stationary hydraulic lash adjusters from inside the bores. All valve train components should be cleaned before receiving thorough inspections. During installation insert the stationary hydraulic Lash Adjuster with engine oil gm p/n 12378006 or equivalent while avoiding contact between the Lash Adjuster pivot sphere area. The new Lash Adjuster units should receive gm p/n 12345001 or equivalent lubricant which must be generously applied to both the roller pivot pocket and valve slot regions of the Camshaft followers. Every follower needs to sit directly on its valve tip to maintain complete contact with the Camshaft lobe before exacting followers back into their initial positions. Position the Camshaft followers using a flat end on the valve tip and rounded head on the Lash Adjuster. To finish up install all the camshafts and cover the Camshaft.
