  • Q: How to service the rear door window regulator on 2000 Cadillac Seville?
    A: Start by taking out the door trim panel and removing the door module together with the water deflector when accessing the rear door Window Regulator. Interrupt power to the Power Window Switch in order to protect users from the express down feature. Finally secure the Power Window Switch plus module then push the window toward the ceiling while using tape for immobilization. Wear approved safety eyes with gloves during the process of unfastening window clamp fastener bolts while letting regulator clamps reach their lowest position possible. First disconnect the captured bolts before removing each of the remaining three bolts. You must disconnect the motor electrical connector before pulling the Window Regulator upward to free the two trapped bolts inside the slots and extracted the regulator. Place the Window Regulator in the door opening before you slide the opened captured bolts into the keyhole slots so you can lower the regulator to connect them together. Lastly, install the three Window Regulator bolts but tighten them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Secure the window motor electrical connector which has rubber insulators properly installed onto the Window Regulator clamps. Remove the tape after correctly raising the clamps of the Window Regulator into its maximum height position which locks the window into place. Position the window first by dropping it two inches then push it fully against the division post before moving it forward 2 mm to 3 mm (5/64 in to 1/8 in) then raise it to its full up position. Install the glass into position before tightening clamp bolts to 10.5 n.m measurement (93 lb in force). The Power Window Switch and module need to be disconnected before installation of the water deflector and door module and door trim panel.
