How to replace the power seat switch on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

Start the replacement of power Seat Switch by disabling the sir system. The front seat assembly needs to be adjusted forward and upward before accessing the rear fasteners at the back of the front seat cushion assembly. The front seat assembly requires moving to the rear position of the vehicle after removing its rear fasteners. The front seat cushion needs to be angled upwards toward the front to reveal the front fasteners to enable their removal. Raise the front seat cushion assembly yet keep the lumbar switch knob in place as the component belongs to the lumbar switch assembly system. First detach both knobs from the Seat Switch then unfasten its trim plate bezel. The door trim pad clip remover (J 38778) enables you to remove the switch bracket retainers when you pull up the front seat cushion cover to reveal the Seat Switch. To remove the switches along with the bracket assembly from the seat bottom frame users need to open the locking tabs on the mounting bracket. Release the switch from its mounting bracket by using a flat-bladed tool then disconnect the electrical connector from the seat switches. Complete installation involves plugging the electrical connector to the switch before mounting it to the bracket before securing the seat switches onto the bottom frame. Start by inserting the switch bracket retainers into the seat bottom framework and tucking the seat cover down again toward the switch area. Then align the holes found in the seat cover with the switch assembly before completing the installation. After seating the front seat cushion assembly onto the seat riser position its front fasteners to the seat cushion assembly. Use a proper position and angle of the front seat assembly to install the rear fasteners before tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Steer the front of the front seat cushion upward before you tighten its front fasteners until they reach 9 n.m (80 lb in). Install the knobs along with the switch trim plate bezel before enabling the sir system.
