How to service and repair the timing chain on 2000 Chevrolet Camaro?

Begin Timing Chain service by fitting the Crankshaft balance key into the Crankshaft keyway position it either parallel to the shaft or with a slight tilt angle. Before installation attach the Timing Chain to its sprockets with proper timing mark alignment followed by installation of the Timing Chain covering the sprockets. These steps follow camshaft sprocket bolt installation which requires tightening to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) using the torque angle meter (J 36660-A) to achieve an additional 90 degrees of bolt torque. Tighten the dampener bolt with 22 nm (16 ft. Lbs.) torque followed by the last installation step.
