2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: The replacement of the condenser begins by removing the lh fender diagonal brace while also removing the cross vehicle brace. First recover the refrigerant before removing the Radiator. Start by detaching the liquid line nut from the condenser before placing it safely aside. Afterward detach the compressor line nut and do the same. Next, remove the condenser. Begin by adding the new condenser while applying mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new o-ring seals. Then mount the condenser onto the compressor hose and liquid line installation. Keep the liquid line connected to the condenser by tightening its nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft) followed by installing the compressor hose to the condenser using a nut torque of 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Next follow these steps: installation of the Radiator then a/c system ventilation and pressurization followed by a leak check. Reinstall both the cross vehicle brace along with the lh fender diagonal brace.
