How to replace the parking brake cable (Front) on 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

The process of replacing the parking brake cable (Front) starts with instrument panel insulator removal from the left side followed by the left side carpet retainer removal and the lower center pillar trim panel removal from the left side. Expose the parking brake cable through carpet folding before removing it from the park brake cable guides. Raise and support the automobile properly before detaching the parking brake cable at the equalizer location. Next lower the vehicle while removing the cable button from the brake lever clevis before extracting the front cable from its place. During installation, firstly feed the front cable through the vehicle space and join it to the parking brake lever where you must place the cable button inside the lever clevis followed by fastening the cable button assurance clip. Put the vehicle on elevation and properly support it before you tighten the equalizer's nut to get the desired cable tension then put the vehicle down. Let the park brake cable pass through its guides before you reposition the carpeting which will be followed by lower center pillar trim panel installation on the left side with the addition of left side carpet retainers and left side instrument panel insulator and then adjust the parking brake. Finally, adjust the parking brake.
