How to replace the rear parking brake cable on 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

A suitable method to replace the rear park brake cable begins with properly supporting the vehicle while it is raised. Relieved tension of the park brake cable at the equalizer to disconnect the rear cable properly from the front cable attachment point. The right rear cable needs disconnecting from its clip on the other hand the left rear cable requires a full removal of the equalizer nut from the equalizer stud which belongs to the left rear cable. Next in sequence remove the park brake cable from the actuator lever after which you place the cable retaining pin out of the support bracket before taking out the park brake cable. The new park brake cable installation process involves positioning it into the support bracket while attaching the cable retaining pin. The park brake cable needs to be attached to the actuator lever before connecting rear cables to front cables. Right rear cable must be connected to the clip and left rear cable requires installation of the equalizer stud on the equalizer nut. The installation process requires a final step to correct the park brake and perform vehicle descent.
