Start the replacement by removing two-thirds of the brake fluid from the master cylinder before securely elevating the vehicle. Notice how the wheel attaches to the hub and replace both tire and wheel before installing two wheel nuts to maintain the rotor. Place a large c-clamp on the caliper housing body to push the Piston inside the box while keeping pressure on the outboard pad until the caliper can move away from the rotor. Avoid over-tightening the clamp to protect the pad from damage. Protection against damage comes from hanging calipers only on brass brake pipe or metal brake hose. When you remove the caliper for professional repairs disconnect the brake hose bolt. Just replacing brake pads does not require removing this connection. Block fluid passages of the caliper housing and pipe before you detach the caliper bolts to take the housing off from its bracket and the rotor. Make replacements when finding any damage to bolt boots or Piston boots during our inspection. Replace the caliper bolts if corrosion damage is present and use new components for the replacement. Put the caliper housing on top of the rotor and caliper bracket while making sure the bushings are present. Use silicone grease to lubricate the caliper bolts at their body and two bracket boots. Install the caliper bolts by ensuring the boot of each bolt fits into the pin bolt groove before tightening them to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.) using new copper gaskets. Do this step only if you previously removed the brake hose bolt. Tighten it back into position with a torque of 54 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Insert tires and wheels over the rotor while keeping the wheel nuts at their initial positions then lower the vehicle down. Pour fresh brake fluid until it reaches the right amount then check and perform a brake bleeding process if you took off the inlet connection. Press the brake pedal multiple times before restoring use. Check the hydraulic brake system for fluid leaks at the end of the installation process.
