How to Service and Repair the Brake Backing Plate on 2000 Chevrolet Prizm?

The backing plate can be serviced and repaired with the wheel cylinder being removed, the rear brake shoes removed, and then the rear axle hub removed. Unscrew the parking brake cable off the backing plate and take it out. To install, you have to install the backing plate, and the parking brake cable and reconnect the components.
