2000 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the auxiliary A/C hose on 2000 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?
A: The first requirement before replacing auxiliary a/c evaporator tubes is to recover all refrigerant from the system. You must disconnect the auxiliary a/c evaporator tubes from their positions on the condenser tube and the accumulator. Follow these steps to reach the clamp behind the right front wheelhouse by raising the vehicle after unscrewing that clamp. Start by removing the retaining nut and auxiliary a/c evaporator tubes (2,3) from the auxiliary hvac module. The auxillary a/c evaporator tubes must then be detached from their clamps before the vehicle attains the removal of these components. Installation should start with placing the auxiliary a/c evaporator tubes back into position followed by clamping them to their respective positions. Fit the auxiliary a/c evaporator tubes (2,3) together with the retaining nut onto the auxiliary hvac module while tightening the nut to 16 n.m (142 lb in). The vehicle should be lowered again while the right front wheelhouse should be reinstalled. The installation process requires two steps: attaching the auxiliary a/c evaporator tubes to both condenser tube and accumulator then tightening their nuts to 16 n.m (142 lb in) and finally recharging the refrigerant into the system.
