  A: A technician must begin by evacuating and recovering refrigerant while following sir handling caution procedures. The sir system must be disabled alongside the negative Battery Cable. After clearing the instrument panel carrier you should first remove the bolt while sliding the plate counterclockwise to break the connection between bulkhead and Evaporator inlet and outlet tubes. First isolate the open refrigerant lines through capping to stop contamination and then remove the Evaporator temperature sensor electrical connector from the compressor control module. The Evaporator case removal begins by taking out the 6 screws along with 2 nuts until the case can be removed from the vehicle while additional steps require the removal of 5 screws and the Evaporator case insulation. And the bulkhead needs the Evaporator inlet and outlet pipes to be connected by sliding the plate while rotating it clockwise then securing it using the bolt. Place back the instrument panel carrier followed by sir activation and the negative (-) battery cable reconnection. The evacuation and recharging process must be completed for the air conditioning system before operating it while checking for refrigerant leaks.
