How to Service and Repair the Brake Line with 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 Inch Ring Gear on 2000 GMC Savana 3500?

The first step for changing or repairing a brake hose/line on 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 inch ring gear vehicles is to wipe off dirt, grease, and any foreign matter from both hose fittings. Take off the rear brake pipe from the hose, after that, unscrew the nut and clip at the front of the rear brake hose. Now, separate the rear brake pipes from the brake hose on the axle and remove the retaining bolt of the rear brake hose from the rear axle before take out the hose from the vehicle. When putting the hose back on, make sure to use the fastener notice from the service precautions. Fit the rear brake pipes from the axle onto the brake hose, make sure they're tightened to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.), and then attach the retaining bolt of the rear brake hose to the rear axle, making sure it is also tightened to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Make sure the brake hose is straight and is kept away from the suspension components. Secure the retaining nut and retaining clip to the front of the brake hose, hook up the rear brake pipe to it, and bleed the brake hydraulic system using either a manual or pressure method.
