The first step is to inspect and service the Drain Plug while repairing it if needed and to inspect the sealing surface on the Oil Pan and if harm is detected you must replace it. Start by clearing the Oil Filter sealing area from the engine block and replace or fix the components when needed. Before installing a new Oil Filter turn on the gasket with small amounts of clean oil and fasten the filter to the engine block with 3/4 to 1 full turn of rotation after the gasket makes contact. After tightening the engine oil Drain Plug to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) install the oil drain pan for removal from under the vehicle.
