How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2001 Buick LeSabre?

The first step for camshaft position (CMP) sensor replacement requires removing the coolant recovery reservoir together with the Drive Belt. First disconnect the electrical connector from Camshaft Position Sensor then remove the retaining screw on the sensor. The Camshaft Position Sensor needs to be extracted from its position on the engine front cover. Position the new Camshaft Position Sensor on the engine front cover before securing it according to the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the sensor in place with the retaining bolt until it reaches 10 n.m (89 lb in). Rehang the electrical connector onto the Camshaft Position Sensor before reattaching the Drive Belt and assembly of the coolant recovery reservoir.
