How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2001 Cadillac DeVille?

Begin the replacement task by taking out the left sound insulator. You need to rotate the stoplamp/ABS/shift lock switch opposite its direction to detach it from its position. Take off the electric plugs from the switch. Mount the stoplamp switch by plugging its electrical connectors then securing it in its holder. Press the switch against the retainer until its plunger sinks all the way into the switch tube. Push the switch clockwise until it fits firmly. Finally, reinstall the sound insulator.
